  1. The air compressor switch should be off when you approach the machine.  In this picture it is in the OFF position.  Twist clockwise to AUTO.  Compressor should come on and begin filling with air. If it isn't off, report it.

  2. Main power should be off when you start.  Unlock it and turn it on.  In this picture it is in the OFF position.

  3. Inspect the interior of the machine.  Confirm the last user cleaned out the swarf and did not leave equipment in the machine.  In this picture someone has left behind a vise. Inspect the tray under the machine to make sure the last user cleaned out the swarf.

    • Inspect the automatic oiler. Make sure that it has oil and activates when the machine turns on.

  4. If the E-stop does not need to be released, report it. Release the E-stop by twisting it clockwise.  It should spring up when it releases.

    • Press the blue RESET button. It should light up. our button is always lit and Tormach doesn't know why

    • In the PathPilot Program, click "release" with the mouse or through the touch interface.

    • Tie back your long hair

    • Put on your safety glasses

    • Put on your steel toed boots or shoes

    • Never wear loose clothing that could catch in the machinery

    • Slow and steady wins the race!

Conclusion

The machine is now clean, powered on, and ready to use. Be careful and go slow! There is never a need to hurry.
